Remember the days where we would take Polaroid photos? Our cameras would snap a photo, develop the film and spit out the picture all in one!
As time evolved, cameras became more advanced with focus adjustments and filters. We would drive to a photoshop, drop off our film and could come back in just 24 hours to pick it up.
In this day and age we now simply snap a photo with our phone, and store them digitally. We can then share them across the internet in a matter of seconds.
As time turns we are constantly evolving new and better ways of doing things. We learned what works, what didn’t and we progressed.
The same can be said about our diets and nutrition. We have learned over time what makes us healthy, increases our energy, reduces our risk of disease and on an even bigger and global scale, what is good for our planet.
We have all heard how important it is to get our fruits and vegetables and how meatless meals are becoming more popular in our society. We now have restaurants that have gone plant based and for good reason.
I can see a day in our future where just like the polaroid camera evolved, it’s normal to power our diets more with plants.
So what is all this hype about anyway and what are the benefits of eating a plant based diet?
Here are some of the many benefits that your body will reap:
Plants load your body with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and clean energy.
Many plants have a high water content which can help you stay hydrated.
Plants contain fiber which helps with weight loss, weight maintenance and helps you feel full.
Plants can help lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure and decrease inflammation.
I want to encourage you to get the “bigger picture” of what eating more fruits and veggies can do for you!
My best for health and wellness
